Decontamination and Odor Removal

One of the most important steps of the wildlife removal process is decontamination. Basically, a visit from Fur & Feathers Wildlife Control will have three steps. First, we will inspect the property, in order to assess the damage and the wildlife situation, and proceed accordingly. Next, we will move on to actually removing the animal from your home, and lastly, we will focus on repairing, sanitizing, and basically preventing future infestations.

Why is it important to sanitize your home?

The reason why we insist on the decontamination and sanitization step is that removing the wild animal itself is not enough to keep you and your family safe. Even once the animal is gone and safely relocated to another area, you are still exposed to serious illnesses and bacteria through its feces and urine.

Keep in mind that wild animal droppings can expose you to serious infectious diseases, such as salmonella, tularemia, leptospirosis, and even plague, so you don’t want to joke around with this one.

Our team will swoop in on the affected area with professional-grade cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and scrub off any last trace of the animal droppings, making the area livable again. We will use only the best, strongest solutions in order to thoroughly cleanse your home, and remove any last trace of the animal’s existence.

Caution: we recommend staying out of the contaminated area (e.g. the attic, shed, etc.) until the wildlife removal and decontamination process is complete. If you must go inside, we recommend the use of a face mask, protective gloves, and of course, avoiding any direct contact with the animal droppings, carcasses, and so on.

Odor Removal

One of the most well-known side effects of a wild animal invasion is, naturally, the odor left behind (largely owing to its feces). This odor is not only highly unpleasant to you and your family, but it also risks attracting other predators. For instance, if you’re dealing with a rodent invasion, the smell of rodent fur and rodent droppings will also attract larger predators, like snakes, which typically feed on rodents.

So not only is the odor unpleasant to you, but it may also prove actively dangerous.
